The GC 6000 is a twin-screw, diesel-electric driven and open-top vessel with DP capability, designed to be the ultimate jack-of-all-trades.

As a general cargo vessel, the single large box-shaped hold and open-top notation allow it to carry almost any type of cargo. In the past, it has been used to carry everything from grain bulk and containers to oversized project cargo and all types of offshore wind turbine components.

The real forte of this platform, however, is in its versatility as an offshore supply and support vessel. The DP installation on the vessel gives it the capability to on- or offload its cargo offshore. This means that it can be used, for instance, as a pipe feeder or a supplier of wind turbine foundations. Furthermore, the vessel is SPS60 capable, and has been converted to an offshore accommodation platform with minimal effort. Finally, it can handle light offshore installation work, such as rock dumping, dredging, or grouting, again with minimal modification effort.
